Calling all Dads! St Thomas’ Dad & Kids Weekend Away
The second annual Dad’s Kids Weekend Away is coming up soon on October 11th to 13th (the last weekend of the school holidays) – and is intended for all Fathers with their Sons and Daughters.
The venue will again be Glenmack Park (http://glenmack.com.au/) in the magnificent Kangaroo Valley, which offers a variety of activities including:
- Jumping Pillow
- Swimming Pool
- Mini golf
- Kids playground
- Movie nights
- Pool table
- 1 Km from river
- Animal feeding
- Canoe/kayak/bike hire
- and camp fires – so we will have the marshmallows ready.
In addition, we will be running some group activities on the oval on the Saturday afternoon.
Costs are on the Glenmack website, but in summary, if you pitch a tent it costs $18 per adult and $14 per child per night. There may still be some cabins available on the site, which have varying costs depending on the number of people and facilities available (i.e. ensuite and air conditioning). If you are interested in cabins, then please check it out directly on the website and go ahead and book – but, please just let me know that you will be coming along (which you can do via the link below).
If your preference is to camp, then this will be handled by the co-ordination team as a group booking closer to the time.
Again, we will be catering for all meals from Saturday morning through to Sunday morning (inclusive) and for this we will be asking for a contribution of $25 per person attending. Those with serious allergies, please could you BYO.
To confirm your attendance, please complete details below.
Payment details will follow separately as part of the confirmation process.
I have also attached a copy of the planned ‘running sheet’ for our time away – which will give you an idea of the planned format and let you see that there is lots of R&R and activities built in.
If you do have any other queries, please email Mark Charlton at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please RSVP ASAP – the final closing date is 30 September.
I look forward to hearing from you and ask you to encourage others from the 10am and 5pm congregations to attend. It promises to be a fun and encouraging time together!
