John and Fiona first went in South Asia in 2007, where they met. Born in New Zealand, John grew up in Southeast Asia as a third culture kid, while Fiona grew up in Sydney. John and Fiona returned to Sydney in 2009, got married (at St Thomas’) and studied at SMBC for 3 years. They returned to South Asia in 2012 with their two boys. John is now the SIM Country Director with a focus on church planting among Muslims. This is a complex role that requires leadership for the 40+ SIM members and associates on the team and oversight of the 80+ national staff.
John and Fiona are in South Asia serving the SIM Team in a leadership role (as Country Director). The team has a clear vision of establishing healthy churches among the majority people and are accomplishing this through a variety of means. Both Fiona and John will also be involved in teaching and discipleship of church leaders.

Peter Procopio is an experienced Civil Engineer and Construction Leader with over 30 years in the building and construction industry. Since graduating from the University of New South Wales in 1991, he has built a strong reputation delivering complex, large-scale projects across residential, commercial, infrastructure and mixed-use developments.
Peter’s career is grounded in hands-on project and construction management, with extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing projects from early feasibility through to completion. He has held senior roles with leading organisations including John Holland, Paynter Dixon, TOGA, and Leighton Contractors, as well as operating his own development company. Peter currently holds the position of General Manager – Property Development at Anglicare.
Most recently, Peter has been involved in a range of residential development projects across Sydney, working both client-side and contractor-side. His project experience includes major developments such as the Sydney Metro Waterloo Integrated Station Development, large-scale residential apartment projects, and high-profile mixed-use precincts.
Peter brings deep expertise in construction methodology, stakeholder management, design coordination, and commercial delivery. He is known for his ability to manage complex interfaces, navigate challenging project conditions, and deliver outcomes aligned with both commercial and client objectives.
Throughout his career, Peter has demonstrated strong leadership, clear communication, and a practical, solutions-focused approach. He is passionate about continuing to contribute to high-quality projects and working collaboratively with established teams to deliver successful outcomes.
