We’re a church family that loves to see new people join. We want to welcome people from all walks of life, and help them get connected into life at St Thomas’. We’re blessed to have many people visiting church every week, and we need warm and friendly faces to not only greet our visitors, but take the time to get to know our new people, answer any queries they have, and be on the lookout for new faces amongst the pews too. One of our greatest joys in gathering together on Sundays is praising God, and singing to encourage one another in song. Music has the unique quality to engage both our hearts and minds; and musicians serving at church have the privilege of leading us and serving us with their musical gifts. Led by a band leader, they work together on Sundays to set up, rehearse, lead the congregational singing and pack up after the service. No experience in a church music team is required, however musical experience is necessary. Membership of the Music Team is by audition.
Currently seeking:
• 2 Singers/musicians (all services)
Our Production team helps the congregation engage easily during services. Sound techs arrive early to supervise the stage set-up, complete sound checks during the music rehearsal, mix the sound during the service, and supervise pack up afterwards. During the service they operate the slides and record the sermon (if required). If you have some aptitude or keen interest in any of these areas, you don’t need to be an expert as full training is provided!
Currently seeking:
• 2 Production team members (8am service)
• 1 photographer (for each service)
• 1 videographer (for each service)
We want to see everyone growing in their trust in God through reading the Bible and by the Spirit.Discipleship Groups have a team of leaders that help everyone grow in understanding of God’s word and applying it to their lives. Leaders also help ensure that their group is well-cared for, through prayer, fellowship and encouraging the group to care for one another. Leaders need to be mature Christians, leading godly and upright lives. Training is provided throughout the year. 121 ministry is another way that we seek to grow ourselves and each other in our faith. We believe that deep spiritual growth comes through fellowship with the Bible at the centre. Our aim is to partner people with someone further along in the faith or someone just getting started, with the goal of growing together in love for the Lord.

Do you have a specialty skill like juggling, sports coaching, language translation or baking sourdough? We want you hear from you!
We’re committed to seeing the breadth of our gifts applied for the good of God’s kingdom.
Ling would love to speak with you about your gifts, convictions and capacity to see what kind of ministry would be a good fit for you to serve in. She is the first point of contact before being connected with a ministry at St Thomas’. This role aims to mobilise each of us for God’s glory and streamline processes.
Ling grew up in Newcastle and worked as an occupational therapist for 7 years before being persuaded to do MTS at Hunter Bible Church. She moved to Sydney to study at Moore College and married Luke Shooter in 2020. Ling spends her time thinking and talking about ministry, and meets with women to read the Bible and help them grow in their love for Jesus.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a random for many.
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
